Hi y'all. I just joined your message board and community. I hope you don't mind. My name is Nora and I'm from the Cleveland, OH area. I'm 32 years old and have been a country music fan for years now. I'm a wedding photographer and wouldn't trade my job for the world. I have tried other message boards and have found them to be a bust to say the least. I'm hoping that I have finally found a good one with good people. My boyfriend is part of the Nashville Star message boards and they are awesome. That is his lil space though and I wanted some board to call my space Very Happy

I'm a newby too.

We didn't listen to Country when I was growing up in New York, but all the good guitar pickers seemed to be Country guys (James Burton, Roy Clark, even Dwayne Eddy, who was originally from Corning, NY).
So I naturally progressed into it through Clarence White w The Byrds, etc.
I especially liked when Glen Cambell stood toe to toe with George Benson on TV and traded Jazz licks. Wow!
All the Telecaster players caught my ear too, like Buck Owens and the Buckeroos, Waylon, Haggard, Asleep at The Wheel, etc etc.

The songs get to me now, anything from Kathy Mathea on through to Hank Williams III!

Hey! Nice to meet all of you.
I'm a huge country music fan, especially the much older stuff, not so much the current artists that are coming out. I'm trying to learn the entire Eagles Anthology on guitar, so if you guys use any great instruments you could recommend (I'm looking for a really good guitar) or some special tips... I would appreciate that a lot!
Thanks.

Hey Y'all

I just found a link to this forum from another guitar related forum and thought I'd join up. My name is Chris and I live in Memhpis, Tn but I'm from Northwest Arkansas (Yep Hillbilly). I got back into country a few years ago after being away for about 15 years. I grew up on Blue Grass and since my Father danced to Bob Wills in the 30s and 40s Western Swing. Since I play guitar I tend to listen to Artists that are players themselves or have top notch players on their albums. Some of my favorties are Brad Paisley, Dwight Yoakum(Pete Anderson), Marty Stuart, Tony Rice, Kenny Vaughn, Dierks Bently, George Strait, Asleep at the Wheel. Well I'm sure you get the idea.

I'm also a big fan of good steel players and fiddlers. Look for a local boy named Brandon Apple on tour with Clint Black this summer and my best friend from highschool's cousin Jenee' Flenor with Terry Clark (how country does that sound).

News About Hold Their Feet to the Fire / Amnesty Alamo

Historic Coalition Going to DC to stop Amnesty for Illegal Aliens

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A historic coalition of organizations plan to converge on Washington, DC on April 22-26 to carry the message from the American public to lawmakers that America needs comprehensive immigration enforcement and not amnesty to deal with illegal immigration.

ALIPAC has launched a website at www.HoldTheirFeetToTheFire.org dubbed 'Amnesty Alamo', which will help promote events and attendance for these historic events and to enhance the efforts already in place by radio show host Rodger Hedgecock, Federation of Americans for Immigration Reform (FAIR), DA King of the Dustin Inman Society, and the angry truckers called 'Hold Their Feet to The Fire'.

"We are planning a historic effort in Washington to stop this Scamnesty," says William Gheen of ALIPAC. "This legislation reflects a radical Open Borders agenda that must be stopped because a majority of Americans oppose it. We need enforcement of our existing immigration laws, not legislation that radically suspends our existing laws, as the Flake Gutierrez legislation does. This is not just amnesty legislation. This legislation will end America as we know it."

The efforts in DC will be supported by citizen activists that are going to Washington by the thousands and by citizens at home engaged in the lobbying effort. The events will start on Sunday April 22, with a rally in Lafayette Park across from the White House set up by DA King. FAIR will hold a lobbying training session set up, with Roger Hedcock's 'Radio Row' and "Blogger Row", which includes over 34 talk radio show hosts and bloggers that oppose amnesty. The show hosts and bloggers will be broadcasting live from the Phoenix Hotel calling on all Americans to join the effort.

Angry truckers plan to block the freeway's around Washington DC on Monday April 23rd. The effort is open to any non-racist organizations that wants to participate. Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, 9/11 Families for a Secure America, NumbersUSA, and many other organizations are going to DC as well.

A Letter from William Gheen President of ALIPAC

Friends,

The time has come for us to make history once again and to throw all of our resources behind an effort to block the amnesty legislation the big corporations are planning up in Washington DC.

While the task may appear daunting due to the high level of influence the special interests have in DC, the American public is on our side regardless of any cooked polls you may see. We need your help to fight Scamnesty with all of our combined might.

ALIPAC is calling on all of our civilian activists, allied leaders and organizations, and media contacts to engage in these efforts.

Our goals are to 1. Get as many people as possible to go to Washington, DC (April 22-26) and into the offices of members of the US Congress and Senate to lobby against Guest Worker Amnesty, 2. To get as many people that cannot be in DC on the phones to reinforce our efforts, and 3. To schedule as many office and event visits as possible in the districts to send a clear message.

For success in blocking Scamnesty, we will need everyone to work on their own and together as a team as much as possible.

We will need a clear message. The message is that any legislation that gives any legalized status or that allows illegal aliens to stay in the US or leave for short periods of time before returning "touchback" is Amnesty. The only thing that will stop and reverse illegal immigration is for illegal aliens to return to their own nations, with a story for their neighbors about how their ill gotten gains in America did not pan out.

A more complete description of how we can deport with attrition and compel millions of illegal aliens to leave on their own accord is detailed in our platform document "How To Reverse Illegal Immigration In America" found at http://www.alipac.us/article1111-thread-1-0.html

Please check your schedules and take immediate action to join us in Washington. We have set up a promotional website, to enhance the existing "Hold Their Feet To The Fire" events put on by Roger Hedgecock and FAIR (Federation of Americans for Immigration Reform).

We have over 34 top talk radio show personalities that will be broadcasting live from the events. This 'Radio Row' will be supported by bloggers forming a "Blogger Row" and we want to hear from any bloggers that are willing to promote and join this effort.

If you join our efforts on the phone and in DC, you will receive a set of instructions and talking points to help defeat Amnesty soon. There are several critical flaws in this legislation that we will focus on, in our efforts to lobby and warn our fellow Americans.

What we need most is you in DC. It does not matter if you have never lobbyied before. There will be training sessions and anyone can do this. If you absolutely cannot be in DC, we need your help on the phones.

We just received word last week that the truckers are coming to DC as well! They are very angry at the Executive Branch's decision to allow Mexican trucks to roll right into America. Not only will this financially hurt American truckers and lead to many more Americans killed on our highways, but our drug and human importation interdiction efforts will be rendered useless, if the Bush administration fully establishes this Open Borders Lobby.

Please help us spread the word and set up links to the promotional website. Please visit this website today for help with lodging and transportation or to keep up with the full schedule of events, as the list is updated and to sign up to help in DC or with calls.

We need your support to make history. We need to do everything we can to stop Amnesty now!

We hope to see you soon at www.HoldTheirFeetToTheFire.org

Please sign up to receive e-mail updates at this site so we can keep you posted on event updates and what you can do to play an important role in this battle.

ALIPAC will have a command center set up in DC to help you with this effort.

We are going to DC to stop Amnesty! We are taking you with us! Let's roll!
