Hi, folks. My mother-in-law is looking for title/artist of a song apparently from the mid-forties concerning Army soldiers playing with a deck of cards in a foxhole. She thought it my have been sung by Tex Ritter but I guess he was more of an actor..? I tried to be as ambiguous as I could! Sorry, and thanks.

She is correct. "Deck of Cards" was recorded by T. Texas Tyler, then by Tex Ritter both in the 40's. It was also recorded in the late 50's by radio and TV personality Wink Martindale, then in 1991 by Bill Anderson.
